Big Picture
The ask was to create two media walls in main entrance of electric car start-up, Canoo. One screen for displaying informative content for investors and the other to inspire employees.
One of the most radical aspect of Canoo’s car is its user interface. While every car company was adding more and bigger screens, it’s taking more sustainable and smart route - simply using driver’s smart phone as the screen. So I wanted to highlight this unique feature of the product in this installation, and came up with an idea that we ask employees to donate their old mobile devices and we turn them into interactive media walls. This concept also reminds employees of the fact that it takes many individuals to come together to unite and form one ‘big picture’. Ocean waves were used as visual motif to convey company’s core value, sustainability while also highlighting its Californian root.
I created a demo for interactive contents as well - displaying KPI metrics, introducing departments and employees, event notification and etc. I did not work on the portraits.
Portraits in the animation were used as only as demonstration for internal pitch. The project was not realized.
